We have been cooking together since 1976 when we started a small espresso shop in the Sierra Nevada's. We owned and operated what became a full breakfast and lunch restaurant for ten years. In 1986 we sold our "Morning Thunder Cafe" and moved to the Mendocino Coast where we took over "The Ledford House Restaurant". The Ledford House is located seven miles south of Mendocino on Highway One in Albion California. The restaurant reflects the provencal style of southern France and accommodates 65 to 90 people in the elegance of two dining rooms where expansive windows allow the Pacific Ocean to become part of the decor. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a casual elegance. Our food has a strong Mediterranean influence with subtle drawings on Asian and Latin flavors grounded by a California style. We are both self taught cooks, in love with the romance of flavors, good living and lore of food. our travels, reading, experimenting and basic feasting keeps our culinary interests sparked. it seemed only natural to settle our passion on the Mendocino coast in a bistro's balance of contemporary and classic culinary style. Our menu is based around our herb gardens, Tony's breads, local farms and wonderful local wines. During the dinner hours I am the executive chef and Tony the Maitre d'. We change our menu monthly enhancing it with nightly specials and a weekly "Sunday Supper Club" menu. We also cater small private parties, weddings and wine paring menus.
